I haven’t touched my website in a year 🤯.
I mean I’ve made the occasional blog post update here and there but I haven’t really updated the core of my website in a veryyy long time. And well… a lot has fucking changed.
So what’s new?
I Updated My Services
Over the past year, I’ve gradually added and taken away from the services I offer to move towards a more aligned brand and offer suite. The only problem? I never updated my website. Ya girl was busy in 2021 and never had the time (isn’t that what everyone says 😅) but I made it a goal this year to tackle the website. I’ve updated my services and added information on my 3 new offers: our brand strategy workshop, consulting, and brand/web expresses.
I Added Prices To My Website
Well… this is a half truth. At the beginning of the year, I decided I wanted to add investment prices to my website so people who really want to work with me won’t be shocked by the investment, or can save up for the future. But since needs vary from project to project, pricing also varies. So I decided on an in-between by adding starting prices to every service.
P.S. clients usually spend $6K – $18K working with us (excluding our brand/web express).
I’m Finally Using My New Photography
Back in February, I got some new (and pretty badass) photography with the amazing Amanda Wagner. The photos came out better than I could have imagined and I finally got around to updating them on the website! A blog is coming along soon on how they went down, and how to get your perfect brand shoot. So stay tuned for that.
The Designers’ Cohort
If you’ve been around for a while, you’d know that I have been building an online community for designers in the background. This is a place specifically for the girls, gays, and theys in the design world that are tired of the boring disengaged communities in the online space. So I built one that I could enjoy. And I finally built a place on my website explaining more about it (after 2 years 😩).
As you can see, a lot has been going on at SDD headquarters. But let’s talk about what I haven’t updated yet, and what my plans are.
The Portfolio
Like everything else, my portfolio was made and then started collecting digital dust over the past year. If you’re a designer reading this then you know how sluggish updating your portfolio can be. Because honestly, who has the time to create 20 mockups for your website when you’re already exhausted after a project. Not me that’s for sure (and probably not you).
But with my big website update goal came another: updating my portfolio by turning all of my favorite projects into case studies. This means I’ll take a project that is normally just pictures and instead add the process from problem to solution.
If that sounds like a big goal, that’s because it is. And it’ll take some time. While the rest of my website is already updated (and published), I plan to update at least 1 portfolio piece a month and share the update here on the blog and in my email.
