Our Design Agency’s Client Onboarding Process

The first step to working with a design agency is onboarding the client. During onboarding, the agency sets up the client on their project management system so the collaboration is seamless from the beginning.

Sweet Daddy Designs has a relatively simple and straightforward client onboarding process that ensures our process goes down without a hitch. Here’s how we do it:

Client Onboarding Process step 1: Design contact form on cream backgrounde
Sweet Daddy Designs’ contact form

Submit Contact Form

Before we can work together, a client has to fill out the contact form on our website so we can get more information on the project and business before we get on a call. Filling out the contact form with as much information as possible is a great way to make our jobs easier when it comes to building the project scope, also called deliverables.

Schedule a Discovery Call

After submitting the form you can expect an immediate email that 1) notifies you the submission was a success and 2) directs you to schedule your discovery call. During the call, we’ll ask numerous questions directed toward the client’s business goals and problem areas. Answering these questions will help us determine if you’re a good fit to work with Sweet Daddy Designs.

Sign Contract & Pay Invoice

After the discovery call, we will send over a proposal with a few package options to determine the project’s scope. After that, you will need to sign a contract and pay the first invoice to reserve your time on our calendar. This is always a first come first serve situation and depending on the time of year you can expect to book 1 to 2 months in advance.

Client Onboarding Process Step 4: notion dashboard

Sign Into The Client Dashboard

The next step in our client onboarding process is to set up our project dashboard. Notion, an endless workspace that makes collaboration and communication simple to use with our clients, hosts our dashboard. In Notion, clients will find an overview of their project, a brand questionnaire, copywriting guidelines for their website, and checklists to keep the project on time.

Complete Client Homework

Once signed in clients are assigned homework that needs to be completed before the project officially kicks off. Client homework looks different from project to project but can include booking their strategy workshop, uploading brand photography, creating website copywriting, or simply filling out their client questionnaire. There will be due dates and reminders so no one falls behind.

Sit back and relax

After the homework is finished our clients can sit back, relax, and let us handle the rest. This is where the project officially kicks off – and the only thing needed going further is presentation feedback and review.

Sounds easy right? That’s because it is. If you’re looking to work together fill out our contact form here.
